Punjab Police Book Multiple Individuals in Separate Incidents Across Nakodar and Shahkot

The Nakodar police in Punjab have registered multiple cases against individuals in connection with various incidents, including a smartphone snatching, assaults, drug possession, and alleged drug consumption. The Shahkot police have also booked a person for motorcycle theft, and unidentified miscreants for the theft of rice bags from a mill.

Nakodar Police Act on Multiple Complaints

In a recent development, the Nakodar police have registered a case against three unidentified motorcycle-borne individuals accused of snatching a smartphone from a car owner. The complainant, Gagan Deep Singh, a resident of Grover Colony, Kadupur, Kapurthala, reported that while he was returning home on June 20, the accused allegedly threw eggs on his car’s windscreen near Uggi village on the Nakodar-Kapurthala road. They then reportedly used a sharp-edged weapon to break the windscreen before snatching his smartphone.

The police have also taken action against individuals involved in drug-related offenses. According to SHO Harmindar Singh, a man identified as Ranjit, alias Laadi of Mohalla Sherpur, Nakodar, was arrested with 40 intoxicating tablets. A case has been registered against him under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. In separate incidents, the Lohian Khas police apprehended Sachdev Singh of Seechewal village and Harmanjot Singh of Badshahpur village, seizing 85 intoxicating tablets from their possession. Furthermore, the Bilga police arrested Mohindar Singh of Mao Sahib village with 38 tablets.

In a different incident, the Nakodar police have booked six villagers on charges of assaulting a local woman. The accused have been identified as Viki, Shali, Bhola, Ajay, Rangla, and Sheela, all residents of Khurshaidpur village. The complainant, Chhindo, from the same village, alleged that the accused waylaid and attacked her.

Additionally, a man identified as Deepak, a resident of Mohalla Sherpur, Nakodar, has been arrested on the charge of consuming heroin. Recovered from his possession were a lighter, silver paper, and plastic pipes commonly used for consuming contraband substances.

Shahkot Police Investigate Theft Incidents

Meanwhile, the Shahkot police have registered a case against an individual for stealing a motorcycle. The complaint was filed by Bhupindar Singh of Billi Baraich village, who reported that an unidentified thief stole his motorcycle on July 30.

In another incident within Shahkot, unidentified miscreants have been booked for allegedly stealing rice bags from a mill. Ashwani Kumar, a resident of Mohalla Gandhi Chowk, Shahkot, informed the police that unknown individuals broke into his rice mill and made off with numerous bags of rice.
