Jog Falls: A Natural Marvel
Jog Falls, also known by alternative names such as Gerusoppe Falls and Gersoppa Falls, is renowned as one of the highest plunge waterfalls in India. Situated amidst dense evergreen forests in the Western Ghats, the falls offer a breathtaking spectacle, especially during the monsoon season when the water cascades down without interruption over the rocks. The surrounding wild and beautiful region, covered with abundant vegetation, enhances the natural splendor of the falls.
Historically, the region around Jog Falls has been a place of spiritual significance, with mentions of sages like Agastya Rishi and Ved Vyas meditating in the area. Varadahalli, one of the stops on the KSRTC tour, is known for its serene rainforests and an ashram, making it a place of tranquil beauty.

Travelers interested in availing these weekend package tours can find more information and book their tickets through the official KSRTC website, www.ksrtc.in and www.ksrtc.karnataka.gov.in. The introduction of these packages by KSRTC is expected to boost local tourism and provide an easily accessible means for people to explore Karnataka’s natural and cultural heritage.
