Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) is set to conduct stakeholder consultation and grievance redressal meetings in five districts of the state on Friday, August 7. The initiative aims to provide a direct platform for consumers to voice their concerns and suggestions to senior officials, ensuring prompt resolution of issues and enhancement of power services.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the series of meetings will be spearheaded by Basant Garg, the chairman-cum-managing director of PSPCL, accompanied by all four directors of the corporation. Mr. Garg has issued directives to the directors to visit their assigned districts, engage directly with stakeholders, prioritize their grievances, and implement immediate remedial actions wherever feasible.
The fundamental objective behind these consultations, as articulated by Mr. Garg, is to establish a consolidated forum where the general public, industrial and commercial establishments, and representatives of industrial associations can articulate their grievances and offer suggestions. This proactive approach is designed to expedite the resolution of complaints, elevate the standard of power services, gain insights into on-the-ground challenges, and foster a more robust connection between PSPCL and its consumer base.
Mr. Garg further elaborated that these on-site visits by senior management are crucial for acquiring firsthand knowledge of the challenges faced by consumers. Following each meeting, every director is mandated to submit a comprehensive report to the CMD, detailing the proceedings and outcomes.
In addition to interacting with consumers, the directors have been explicitly instructed to ensure widespread dissemination of information regarding their visits. They are also tasked with meticulously reviewing public and industrial grievances pertinent to their respective districts, facilitating swift resolutions when possible, and issuing necessary directives to field officers for the efficient clearance of pending cases.
Appealing for active participation, Mr. Garg urged the general public, industrial consumers, commercial entities, and industrial association representatives to engage in these meetings. He emphasized that their active involvement in sharing grievances and suggestions is paramount for making PSPCL’s services more efficient, responsive, and consumer-centric.
To facilitate these engagements, the senior leadership of PSPCL will be present in the designated districts on August 7. Basant Garg will lead the discussions in Ludhiana. Director (Commercial), Harsharan Kaur Trehan, will be in Ferozepur. Director (Distribution), Inderpal Singh, is scheduled to visit Bathinda. Director (Finance), Surinder Kumar Beri, will be in Jalandhar, and Director (Generation), Punnardeep Singh Brar, will attend the meeting in Amritsar. These senior officials are expected to gather public feedback and make timely decisions for the effective resolution of consumer grievances.
The initiative underscores PSPCL’s commitment to improving its service delivery and fostering a more transparent and accessible relationship with its customers. By bringing senior leadership directly to the districts, the corporation aims to address systemic issues and enhance the overall electricity supply experience for all consumers across Punjab.
