The Karnataka Chief Minister, D.K. Shivakumar, has assured full cooperation from the state government for the successful organization of Aero India 2027. Karnataka has historically played a significant role in India’s aerospace industry, contributing substantially to the country’s aircraft and helicopter manufacturing for defence services and its aerospace-related exports. The state was the first in India to announce an aerospace policy in 2013 and has since established a dedicated aerospace park near Devanahalli.

Aero India 2027 is anticipated to attract over 800 exhibitors and more than 100,000 trade visitors. The exhibition will feature a professional B2B trade show alongside a spectacular five-day flying display. This event is particularly important for the Indian defence industry, which is undergoing modernization with ambitious targets for manufacturing output and exports in the coming years. India aims to achieve defense manufacturing worth ₹3 lakh crore by 2029-30, with a target of ₹50,000 crore in defence exports during the same period.

The exhibition is also a key platform for international companies looking to engage with India’s growing defence market. India is recognized as one of the world’s largest importers of foreign goods, and its defense budget is substantial, making it a significant market for aerospace and defense manufacturers globally. The U.S., for instance, has shipped billions of dollars worth of aerospace and defense orders to India in recent years, highlighting the strong bilateral trade in this sector.
