Delhi: Unidentified Man Dies of Electrocution Near Expressway Pillar in Shastri Park

An unidentified man, estimated to be around 25 years old, died on Thursday morning after coming into contact with high-voltage electrical wires near a pillar of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway in the Shastri Park area of northeast Delhi. The incident occurred under circumstances that are currently under investigation by local authorities.

Information was available with The Chenab Times indicating that preliminary inquiries suggest the individual may have climbed over a divider railing before making contact with live electrical wires situated near an electrical panel. This contact reportedly resulted in fatal electrocution.

Following the incident, the man was transported to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital. Medical professionals at the hospital declared him deceased upon arrival. The body has since been transferred to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Authorities are actively working to establish the identity of the deceased, employing various available records and investigative methods.

The Delhi Police have initiated inquest proceedings in accordance with Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), a legal framework governing the investigation of unnatural deaths. Investigators are meticulously examining the sequence of events leading up to the electrocution. This includes assessing potential contributing factors such as negligence or other circumstances that may have played a role in the fatality.

Further inquiries are also focused on understanding how the individual gained access to the restricted area adjacent to the electrical installation.
