Information was available with The Chenab Times that the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has stated that film shooting permissions across India, including Jammu and Kashmir, are now being facilitated through a single-window digital platform. This portal, known as the India Cine Hub (ICH), is managed by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and is designed to simplify the application process for filmmakers.
The India Cine Hub showcases the available filming and non-filming resources across all states and union territories. Applications for shooting permissions are processed online in close coordination with designated nodal officers from the respective states and union territories, ensuring a streamlined approach for Jammu and Kashmir.
In response to specific queries regarding government plans to encourage the establishment of film production and post-production facilities within Jammu and Kashmir, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting highlighted ongoing efforts. The NFDC is actively collaborating with state-level film festivals and other promotional platforms to effectively showcase the region’s potential as a filming destination to a wide array of domestic and international producers.
These concerted efforts by the central government are strategically designed to encourage robust film production and post-production activities within the Union Territory.
