Delhi: 70-year-old Woman Dies in Narela Road Accident Involving Haryana Police Sub-Inspector’s Son

A 70-year-old woman was killed in a fatal collision between a Mercedes and a WagonR in Delhi’s Narela area on Saturday morning. The driver of the Mercedes, identified as the son of a sub-inspector with the Haryana Police, was apprehended at the scene.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that the incident occurred around 8 a.m. near Himalayas Apartment in Mamurpur, Narela. According to Delhi Police, the WagonR was propelled backward by the impact and subsequently collided with a three-wheeler loading van parked nearby.

The deceased, identified as Urmila, wife of Satyanarayan and a resident of Mamurpur, was reportedly standing at the accident site when the crash took place. She became trapped between the vehicles and succumbed to her injuries at the scene, police officials stated.

The driver of the WagonR sustained minor injuries and received necessary medical attention. The Mercedes driver, Shubham, was arrested by the police. Preliminary reports indicate he is the son of a sub-inspector serving in the Haryana Police force.

A beer bottle was discovered inside the Mercedes. Eyewitnesses have come forward alleging that Shubham was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. Authorities are currently investigating the precise circumstances surrounding the crash and verifying the eyewitness accounts regarding intoxication.

A case of fatal accident has been registered, and the body of Urmila has been sent for a post-mortem examination. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.

In a separate incident reported in July, a 20-year-old man named Yashvendra lost his life when the car he was driving allegedly skidded on a wet road, plunged into a drain, and overturned near the Nangal Dewat red light in Vasant Kunj. Police stated that Yashvendra was travelling with a female friend when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle. He sustained injuries and later died as a result.
