SRINAGAR: A 25-year-old woman lost her life in a road accident that occurred overnight in the Kral Sangari area of Nishat, Srinagar.
The Chenab Times has learned that the incident took place around 1:30 AM when a speeding vehicle, identified by its registration number JK01AR-0071, reportedly struck a road divider before overturning.
A passenger in the vehicle sustained injuries and was immediately transported to a local hospital. Medical personnel at the facility pronounced her dead upon arrival. The deceased has been identified as Toboya Auyob, aged 25, daughter of Mohd Auyob, and a resident of Barbar Shah in Srinagar.
Authorities have confirmed that the Srinagar Police have registered a case regarding the incident and are actively conducting further investigations. The circumstances leading to the vehicle losing control and colliding with the divider are under scrutiny.
Road safety has been a persistent concern in the region, with authorities periodically implementing measures to curb traffic violations and enhance road infrastructure. However, incidents involving speeding and loss of control continue to pose a significant risk.
