Srinagar, Sep 3: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar, conducted a comprehensive review of the security and crime landscape in the Anantnag district on Tuesday. The visit included a high-level meeting at the District Police Office (DPO) Anantnag, aimed at assessing current strategies and enhancing public safety measures.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the meeting was attended by Deputy Inspector General of Police, South Kashmir Range, Javid Iqbal Matoo; Senior Superintendent of Police, Anantnag, Amod Ashok Nagpure; and other senior police officials from the district. The discussions focused on the overall security posture and crime prevention efforts within Anantnag.
During the extensive review, IGP Sujit Kumar received detailed briefings on the prevailing security arrangements, crime control initiatives, the progress of ongoing investigations, and the status of active police operations. The IGP emphasized the critical need for strengthening the district’s security grid, ensuring robust coordination among all field formations, and implementing timely and effective actions against individuals and groups engaged in criminal and anti-social activities. He also underscored the importance of enhancing preventive measures and maintaining a state of heightened vigilance across the district to uphold peace and security.
