Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his best wishes to the Indian contingent participating in the 20th Asian Games, which commenced in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. The Prime Minister conveyed his message on Saturday, expressing pride in the athletes’ hard work and dedication.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the Prime Minister posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), stating, “As the Asian Games commence in Aichi-Nagoya, my best wishes to the Indian contingent. Each athlete has worked incredibly hard and shown remarkable dedication and determination. India is proud of them. May they give their best, play well and shine!”
The 20th edition of the Asian Games officially opened in Nagoya, with India sending a contingent to compete across a multitude of sporting disciplines. The prestigious multi-sport event is scheduled to continue until October 4.
Over the next 15 days, approximately 11,000 athletes representing 45 nations are expected to compete in 43 sports, encompassing 71 sub-events. A total of 469 gold medals will be awarded across these events. Preliminary competitions for sports including basketball, football, and cricket have already commenced.
