Srinagar, Sep 20: Ahead of the commencement of the autumn session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, legislators from the National Conference and Congress parties held a joint meeting in Srinagar. The deliberations, held at the Banquet Hall, focused on legislative business and key public welfare issues expected to be discussed during the upcoming session.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the meeting of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Legislature Party was presided over by party president Dr Farooq Abdullah. The session, which was scheduled to begin on Monday, is expected to see active participation from all political factions on matters concerning the region’s development and governance.
The gathering saw the presence of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah, along with six Members of the Legislative Assembly from the Congress party. The purpose of the meeting was to strategize and coordinate their approach to the legislative agenda and to ensure that the concerns and aspirations of the people are effectively represented on the floor of the Assembly.
During the meeting, legislators engaged in discussions regarding the legislative proposals anticipated during the session. A significant portion of the deliberations was dedicated to critical issues of public importance, encompassing public welfare initiatives, developmental projects, and broader governance frameworks within Jammu and Kashmir. The members also deliberated on the specific priorities the parties intended to address during the proceedings.
Dr Farooq Abdullah emphasized the imperative for the legislators to maintain a high degree of coordination and unity. The party president stressed the importance of “constructive participation and focused engagement” on all matters pertinent to the welfare and progress of the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir.
