Andhra Pradesh Advisor Dr. Ravi Kumar Vemuru emphasized the critical importance of innovation, technical skills, hard work, and determination for young people to navigate challenges and forge their future. His remarks were made on Monday, September 28, 2026, during the inaugural session of a two-day National Management Meet held at Acharya Nagarjuna University.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that Dr. Vemuru, who also chairs the AP Non-Resident Tamilians (APNRT), addressed attendees at the university in Guntur district. He highlighted that the current global landscape demands that the youth be equipped with advanced technical expertise and a proactive approach to problem-solving. He further elaborated that the journey of innovation and technical skill development is continuous and requires a mindset geared towards constant learning and adaptation to new technologies and methodologies.
Dr. Vemuru pointed out that the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, is committed to fostering an environment that encourages innovation and provides the youth with opportunities to hone their technical capabilities. This includes initiatives aimed at bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements, ensuring that graduates are not only well-versed in theoretical knowledge but also possess practical skills demanded by the contemporary job market. The focus is on developing a workforce that can contribute to the state’s economic growth through technological advancement and entrepreneurial endeavors.
Several programs and schemes have been initiated by the Andhra Pradesh government to support its youth in acquiring these essential skills. The Naipunyam platform, for instance, is a digital framework designed to connect students, employers, training institutions, and government agencies, streamlining the process of skill development and job placement. Recent efforts have also seen the launch of programs focused on deep-tech areas such as Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, and quantum computing, with collaborations involving global technology leaders like IBM. These initiatives aim to equip a significant number of young individuals with cutting-edge skills, preparing them for the demands of the future job market.
The state’s educational reforms are also being revamped to integrate technology, value-based education, and industry-linked learning. Minister for Education Nara Lokesh has been at the forefront of these reforms, emphasizing the need to expose students to emerging technologies like AI and robotics, while also instilling discipline, social responsibility, and respect for others. The incorporation of AI and a focus on ethical values in the curriculum are key aspects of these educational overhauls. Furthermore, the government has been working to enhance the quality of education in government schools and colleges, leading to an increase in student enrollment in public educational institutions.
The YSR Adarsham Scheme, introduced in October 2019, aims to provide self-employment opportunities by facilitating the distribution of trucks for the transportation of goods, targeting unemployed youth from various socio-economic backgrounds. Similarly, the Mukhyamantri Yuva Nestham Yojana, launched in 2019, offers monthly financial assistance for skill development courses to unemployed youth who meet specific educational and economic criteria. These schemes, among others, underscore the state’s multi-pronged approach to youth empowerment, focusing on both skill acquisition and direct employment generation.
The strategic emphasis on innovation and technical proficiency, as articulated by Advisor Dr. Vemuru, aligns with the broader vision of Andhra Pradesh to become a hub for technological advancement and economic prosperity. By investing in its youth through targeted training programs and educational reforms, the state aims to cultivate a generation of skilled professionals capable of driving innovation and contributing to the nation’s growth trajectory.
