Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has held meetings with YSRCP’s Regional Coordinators to review the party’s preparedness for the local body elections. The emphasis is on immediate commencement of candidate identification, ensuring that those fielded are capable of strengthening the party not only for the current elections but also for future electoral contests. Consultations with leaders at all levels and across various party tiers are being conducted to finalize candidate lists, fostering a collective approach towards the elections.

The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) has seen elections in the past, with the YSRCP securing a majority in the 2021 elections, winning 58 out of 98 wards.
