In Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, a ‘bhoomi puja’ was performed for 30 new projects valued at approximately ₹4,249 crore during a regional conference organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). This event, held on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, served as a precursor to the larger CII Partnership Summit scheduled for November 12-13 in the same city.
Projects to Boost North Andhra’s Industrial Landscape
The newly initiated projects are spread across the districts of Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, Srikakulam, and Vizianagaram. Investors indicated that these ventures are projected to generate a significant number of direct employment opportunities, estimated at 23,256 jobs. The conference also facilitated the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with an additional 30 industries, signaling further investment interest in the region.
Focus on Industrial Growth and Investment
The regional conference, held at IIM Visakhapatnam, was inaugurated by Union Minister for Civil Aviation K. Rammohan Naidu, alongside Andhra Pradesh’s Investments and Infrastructure Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy and Industries Minister T.G. Bharat. The event brought together industrialists, investors, and local entrepreneurs, emphasizing the government’s commitment to balanced regional development across North Andhra. Discussions also centered on various government policies aimed at fostering industrial growth and attracting investment.
MSME Policy and Entrepreneurship Initiatives
A significant focus of the conference was on empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Technical sessions provided insights into the new MSME Policy 4.0, detailing State financial subsidies and accessible credit facilities. The event aimed to educate entrepreneurs on these schemes and promote a supportive ecosystem for businesses. Officials highlighted that such regional conferences are instrumental in building industrial corridors and extending economic opportunities to Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities throughout Andhra Pradesh. The conference also explored mechanisms to connect startups with potential investors, aligning with the state’s ‘One Family, One Entrepreneur’ vision.
Broader Context of CII Partnership Summit
The CII Partnership Summit has become a key platform for Andhra Pradesh to showcase its investment potential and attract both domestic and international businesses. Previous editions of the summit have seen substantial investment commitments, with the state government actively promoting sectors such as green energy, information technology, electronics, and manufacturing. The regional conferences are designed to decentralize investment promotion efforts, ensuring that growth opportunities are accessible across various parts of the state.
