Druski Secures Netflix Development Deal, Sets “Collect & Praise” Comedy Series for December Premiere

Comedian and influencer Druski has inked a multiyear development and licensing agreement with Netflix, marking a significant expansion of his content reach. The initial project under this new partnership is a semi-scripted comedy series titled “Collect & Praise,” slated for release on December 1st.

From Viral Sketch to Streaming Hit

“Collect & Praise” is an extension of Druski’s widely popular megachurch pastor character, which first gained traction in a viral sketch titled “Mega Church Pastors Love Money.” The series will feature Druski as a flamboyant, money-hungry pastor, with Mike Epps set to portray his unpredictable deacon. Together, they navigate a landscape of financial scandals, church chaos, and public controversies.

The original sketch, which garnered over 43 million views in its first 24 hours and eventually surpassed 60 million, became a cultural talking point, sparking discussions about financial exploitation within megachurches and satire of sacred spaces. Druski later reprised the character for a performance at the 2026 BET Awards.

The path to a full series was not immediate, as Druski revealed that major platforms, including Netflix, FX, and Amazon, had initially passed on his pitch. Undeterred, he self-funded the project, reportedly investing over $100,000 in the original sketch alone to demonstrate its potential before pitching it as a series. This entrepreneurial approach eventually led to renewed interest from these platforms, culminating in the current Netflix deal.

A Strategic Partnership

The agreement with Netflix is described as covering a specific number of projects rather than a traditional overall or first-look contract. In addition to “Collect & Praise,” Netflix will also license select titles from Druski’s existing catalog, including “Coulda Been Love,” “Coulda Been Daddy,” and “Coulda Been Records Auditions,” as well as his various comedic sketches. This content has collectively amassed over 1 billion views on YouTube.

John Derderian, vice president of content and head of Animation Series and Kids & Family TV at Netflix, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “Druski has a gift for building characters that people can’t stop talking about. We want the best talent in the world to bring us their most ambitious work, reach new audiences and build their brands. ‘Collect & Praise’ is just the beginning, and we welcome Druski to Netflix.”

Druski, born Drew Desbordes, sees the deal as an opportunity to expand his comedy brand to a global audience, leveraging the resources provided by Netflix to build upon the foundation he has already established independently. His success demonstrates a broader trend of streamers actively seeking creators who have cultivated substantial, proven audiences outside the traditional industry pipeline.

Beyond “Collect & Praise,” Druski also has a new movie in development with Netflix, though details remain under wraps. He indicated that fans can expect to see him consistently across various media, including TV commercials and self-produced films, as he continues to build his entertainment slate.
