Prime Minister Narendra Modi was among the distinguished guests who attended a wedding reception in New Delhi on Tuesday. The event was held for Rhea Badal, daughter of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national vice president Manpreet Badal.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the reception followed the wedding ceremony which took place earlier in the day. Rhea Badal has married RK Martand Singh, the grandson of veteran Congress leader Karan Singh. The groom and his father were observed in traditional royal attire at the celebratory gathering.
The reception, hosted at the private residence of Capt Amarinder Singh’s daughter, Jai Inder Kaur, in the Lutyens’ Delhi area, saw the presence of prominent political figures. Among the attendees were senior leaders from the BJP in Punjab and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). The SAD contingent was led by Sukhbir Badal, accompanied by his wife and Bathinda Member of Parliament, Harsimrat Kaur Badal.
The guest list for the occasion was notably extensive, including several high-profile individuals and senior ministers. Jai Inder Kaur’s son, Nirvan Singh, shares a marital connection with the groom’s family, being married to Mriganka Singh, who is also a granddaughter of Karan Singh, further weaving a tapestry of political and familial ties.
Other notable attendees at the reception included Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, and former Lok Sabha Member of Parliament Simranjit Singh Mann. The spiritual head of the Radha Soami Dera in Beas, Gurinder Singh Dhillon, also graced the event with his presence.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah was unable to attend due to prior commitments, specifically engagements in Chhattisgarh. The gathering underscored the intersection of various political parties and prominent families in the national capital, marking a significant social event within the Indian political landscape.
