The Zonal Youth Festival is an annual event organized by Guru Nanak Dev University to promote extracurricular activities among its affiliated colleges and regional campuses. It provides a platform for students to showcase their talents in a wide array of competitions, including literary events, performing arts, fine arts, and various cultural presentations. These festivals are designed to encourage inter-campus interaction and healthy competition, contributing to the holistic development of students beyond their academic pursuits.

Participation in such festivals often involves rigorous preparation, with students dedicating considerable time to honing their skills under the guidance of faculty advisors. The regional campuses of GNDU play a crucial role in extending the university’s reach and providing educational opportunities to students in different geographical areas. The success at the Zonal Youth Festival highlights the academic and cultural vibrancy of the Ladhewali campus.

The prizes awarded signify not only individual achievement but also the collective effort and support system in place at the regional campus. Such victories often serve as motivation for future batches of students to participate actively in university-level events. The faculty and administration often work in tandem to identify and nurture talent, ensuring that students have ample opportunities to represent their institution on larger stages.

The costume parade, where Sania secured her second prize, typically involves participants creating and wearing costumes that represent a theme, historical period, or a cultural concept. It requires inventiveness in design and execution, as well as a compelling presentation. Similarly, debate competitions test students’ ability to articulate arguments, engage in critical thinking, and respond effectively to opposing viewpoints, in both English and Hindi, demonstrating linguistic versatility.

The achievements at the Zonal Youth Festival underscore the commitment of GNDU’s regional campuses to fostering well-rounded individuals. These events contribute to building a sense of community and shared success among students and staff, reinforcing the university’s broader educational mission.
