Chicken Carrier Vehicle Skids Off NH-244, Crashes Onto House Roof in Kishtwar

Thathri (Doda) — An empty chicken load carrier vehicle (registration JK17A-2093) skidded off the road and plunged onto the roof of a house near Pani Nallah in Drabshalla tehsil of Kishtwar district on Monday morning.

According to details received by The Chenab Times, the accident occurred around 8 a.m. on the Thathri-Kishtwar stretch of National Highway 244, approximately 2 km from Thathri town.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that the vehicle lost control, broke through the roadside barrier, and landed on the concrete slab (lenter) of a residential house, causing extensive damage to the roof. The vehicle was returning empty from Kishtwar.

Two occupants of the vehicle, both residents of Drabshalla, were injured in the mishap. Locals immediately launched a rescue effort and shifted the injured to Sub-District Hospital Thathri.

Block Medical Officer Thathri, Dr Shakeel Ahmed Kichloo, confirmed that one injured person with minor injuries was brought to the hospital in connection with the accident. The second person was treated at the scene and did not require hospitalisation.

No casualties were reported from the house that sustained the impact. Police have reached the spot and initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident.
