HANOI, Apr 15: Vietnam’s newly elected President To Lam held a significant meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing, marking his first overseas trip since assuming office and signaling a priority on strengthening bilateral relations between the two Communist nations.
The Chenab Times has learned that during the four-day visit, which commenced on Tuesday, President Lam and President Xi Jinping engaged in discussions focused on enhancing infrastructure connectivity and fostering collaborations in emerging technological sectors such as artificial intelligence and semiconductors.
The state broadcaster CCTV reported that President Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of defending the socialist system and the ruling position of the Communist Party as a paramount common strategic interest shared by both Beijing and Hanoi. President To Lam articulated Vietnam’s perspective on its relationship with China, stating that the country views the development of ties with its neighbor as an objective necessity, a strategic choice, and a top priority.
