Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Condoles Demise of SDRF Director’s Father

Srinagar: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has conveyed his deep sorrow following the passing of Haji Mohammad Sultan Mir, the father of senior police officer DIG Imtiyaz Hussain Mir. The deceased passed away on Thursday at the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences in Soura after a brief illness.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that Haji Mohammad Sultan Mir, a resident of Iskanderpora in the Budgam district of central Kashmir, was undergoing treatment at the hospital prior to his demise. He was subsequently laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in his native village, with a large number of mourners in attendance. Funeral prayers were led by prominent cleric Agha Syed Muhammad Hadi al Musawi.

In his condolence message, the Chief Minister extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family. He prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul and for strength and fortitude for the family to cope with their profound loss. The Chief Minister acknowledged that the death of a parent represents an immense personal loss, creating a significant void in the lives of family members and loved ones. He expressed solidarity with the family during this period of grief.

DIG Imtiyaz Hussain Mir, the son of the deceased, is a distinguished officer of the 1999-batch of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Service. He currently holds the position of Director of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) in Kashmir. His father’s passing marks a significant personal event for the senior police official.
