A man in the Annamayya district of Andhra Pradesh is accused of murdering his wife over funds received through the Talliki Vandanam scheme, a state welfare initiative aimed at supporting mothers.
Information was available with The Chenab Times indicating that the incident occurred in Kothapalli village, where the deceased, identified as Padmavathi, 28, was allegedly attacked by her husband. The motive, according to the victim’s mother who reported the incident to the police, was Padmavathi’s refusal to hand over money disbursed under the government scheme.
Police have registered a case following the complaint lodged by the victim’s mother. The Talliki Vandanam scheme, a significant welfare program in Andhra Pradesh, provides financial assistance to mothers, particularly during pregnancy and after childbirth, to support the health and well-being of both mother and child.
