80 year old man fighting for 2 meals :: DRYWA
Doda :: Today Team District Rural Youth Welfare Association (DRYWA) under the chairmanship of President Farid Ahmed Naik visited Panchayiat Roti Padrana of block Ghat district Doda
In a statement Farid Ahmed Naik said that Nasrullah Khurwani, an 80 year old man is still fighting for two meals a day. His only son died 8 years ago leaving no source of income for his family. He is now residing with his daughter-in-law and her second husband in village Khutra of panchayat Roti Padarna. Nasrullah have two minor grandchildren, both work as home servants just to earn their own meals. In addition his daughter-in-law and her second husband have three handicapped children which leads their family into great misery and helplessness.
When team DRYWA visited to the spot, tears were evident in the eyes of president DRYWA Farid Ahmed Naik.
According to locals, every year sarpanch promised them IAY housing case as their house is in very bad condition and last he told them to start the construction till first installment. Nasrullah sold a piece of land and completed the work required for first installment, but that installment is still waiting due to some unknown reasons.
According to locals and his family members, his IAY case has been transferred to some other ally of sarpanch and he is still waiting for someone to hear his voice.
Farid Ahmed Naik condemns the act of such departments and sarpanch in strong words and requested the administration to look into the matter as soon as possible. DRYWA also requested the local people to help them in every possible way to make their hard life a bit easy.
