Officials reported on Friday that a police officer was killed in an accidental fire at Malipeth Kishtwar, where he was on naka duty.
Constable Ajeet Singh of R S Pura Jammu was said to have suffered serious injuries after his SLR rifle accidentally went off. They stated he was brought to the district hospital in Kishtwar, where he succumbed from his wounds.
SSP Kistwar Shafqat Hussain Bhat confirmed the policemen’ death and added that a complaint had been filed and that additional investigation was underway.
