On a specific information regarding transportation of Poppy Straw from South Kashmir towards Jammu/Punjab side, a special naka was laid near Police Station Chanderkote. During search of the vehicles, one truck loaded with Apples was was intercepted and put to thorough search. During the process of search, 531 KGs of Poppy Straw got recovered and seized which was in the centre of the vehicle, in between the Apple boxes from both sides.
In this connection case FIR No 54/2018 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Chanderkote and investigation taken up to ascertain involvement of other persons the criminal act. Driver of the vehicle namely Sukhdev Singh S/O Amar Singh R/O Kapoorthalla Punjab has been arrested and the vehicle bearing registration No. JK03C-4086 seized.
The naka party was headed by SHO Chanderkote Insp Abid Hussain Bhukhari under the close supervision of Sh Sanjay Parihar Addl SP Ramban and overall supervision of Ms Anita Sharma SSP Ramban.
