Maryam Nawaz, the head of Pakistan’s opposition, slammed Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday for lavishing praise on India, suggesting he should visit the neighbouring nation if he likes it so much, PTI reported.
Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), the daughter of deposed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, also urged that Khan should follow India’s lead, where no prime minister has ever abrogated the Constitution when facing a no-confidence motion. Her comments came after Khan described India as a “honourable nation.”
Prime Minister Khan said he was not against India and had a large following in the neighbouring country in an address to the nation on Friday night, ahead of the no-trust motion, which he has little chance of surviving unless a miracle occurs.
