The Department of Social Welfare, under the esteemed initiative of Mission Vatsalya, is inviting applications for sponsorship support to underprivileged children below the age of 18 years belonging to economically disadvantaged families. This noble endeavor aims to provide care and protection to vulnerable children, ensuring they have access to essential resources and opportunities for a brighter future.
The District Child Protection Unit, Mission Vatsalya, in District Doda, has opened its doors for applications from parents or guardians of deserving children who meet the specified criteria. As per The Chenab Times, the sponsorship support will be offered to a maximum of two children per family, prioritizing those facing challenging circumstances.
Eligibility Criteria for Sponsorship:
- Children who are orphaned and are currently living with their extended family.
- Families where the mother is a widow, divorced, or abandoned by her family.
Required Documents for Application:
Applicants are requested to submit their applications on plain paper, along with the following essential documents at the office of the District Child Protection Officer, Mission Vatsatya, located near Sports Stadium Doda, on or before 31-07-2023:
- Death Certificate(s) of the deceased parent(s) issued by the competent authority.
- Income certificate issued by the concerned Tehsildar. The family’s income should not exceed:
- Rs 72,000/- per annum for rural areas.
- Rs 96,000/- per annum for urban areas.
- Bona-fide Study Certificate from the school.
- Date of Birth Certificate of the child issued by the competent authority.
- Ration Card of the child’s family/parents.
- Aadhaar Card of the child and parent/guardian.
- Domicile Certificate of the child’s parent/guardian.
- Bank account details of the child. The account should preferably be operated by the child’s guardian, preferably the mother.
- Two (02) passport size photographs each of the child and one of the parents/guardians.
