Jammu – The Sarsanghchalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Dr. Mohan Rao Bhagwat, arrived in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for a three-day visit, embarking on a series of meetings and interactions with local RSS leaders and functionaries.
Upon his arrival at Jammu Airport, Dr. Bhagwat was warmly received by local RSS leaders, led by Prant Prachark, Rupesh Kumar. He proceeded to Keshav Bhawan at Ambphalla, where he will be staying during his visit to Jammu and conducting meetings with Sangh functionaries, Excelsior reported.
During his stay in Jammu, Dr. Bhagwat is set to engage in discussions with the top leadership of Jammu and Kashmir RSS on various issues. A key focus of these discussions will be the expansion of Sangh’s activities within the Union Territory.
On Saturday morning, Dr. Mohan Bhagwat will address a meeting of RSS workers in Jammu, gathering first-hand information regarding the centenary celebrations of the RSS, scheduled for the year 2025.
It is anticipated that a coordination meeting with Swayamsevaks representing various offshoot organizations of Sangh, as well as participation from J&K BJP leaders including Union Minister in PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, BJP President Ravinder Raina, and party General Secretary (Org) Ashok Koul will take place during the visit.
According to report, swayamsevaks from various regions within the Union Territory, such as Kishtwar, Rajouri, Udhampur, Reasi, Poonch, and Jammu Mahanagar, will participate in these discussions, which will include a comprehensive analysis of the prevailing situation in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh Union Territories.
On Sunday, Dr. Bhagwat will address a meeting of various organizations within the Sangh Parivar, seeking feedback on projects initiated by the RSS in the Union Territory, encompassing village development, service (Sewa), public awareness, health, ecology, water conservation, social equality, and education, among others.
Furthermore, Dr. Bhagwat will review the functioning of the offshoot organizations of Sangh, which include VHP, Bajrang Dal, Sewa Bharti, Samaskar Bharti, Vidya Bharti, Shiksha Bharti, and others. Representatives of these organizations are expected to have one-on-one interactions with Dr. Bhagwat during the morning of October 15.
In the afternoon of October 15, the Sarsanghchalak will address a gathering of Swayamsevaks in full dress at Kathua Stadium, with the participation of Swayamsevaks from Kathua, Samba, Basholi, Billawar, and RSS senior functionaries from the Union Territory. Dr. Jitendra Singh, representing the Kathua-Doda Parliamentary constituency, will accompany the RSS chief during his visit to Kathua.
As part of his visit, Dr. Bhagwat will pay floral tributes at the statue of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee in Kathua. He will also unveil the statue of Bharat Mata at Jakhbar village in Kathua and interact with the local villagers. The visit will conclude with Dr. Bhagwat’s departure for the Union Capital in the evening.
The RSS, in a statement, noted that the Sarsanghchalak and Sarkaryavah traditionally travel across the country as part of organizational work and to engage with prominent individuals. Dr. Bhagwat’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir is in line with this organizational tradition, following his previous visit to Jammu in 2021 since assuming leadership of the Sangh in 2009.
