Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 29 – Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan reaffirmed his unwavering support for the people of Palestine in a statement on Wednesday, coinciding with the United Nations’ International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.
In a message posted on social media, Vijayan condemned what he described as “heinous atrocities under the settler colonial regime of Israel,” alleging complicity from imperialist powers. He urged the international community to unite against what he termed an “ongoing genocide,” emphasizing the need to uphold principles of peace, humanity, and justice.
“The world must stand with the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination,” Vijayan said. “Say no to war crimes and stand for humanity.”
The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, observed annually on November 29, was established by the UN General Assembly in 1977 to draw attention to Palestinian rights and the ongoing conflict in the region.
Vijayan’s statement adds to a growing chorus of international voices calling for renewed efforts to resolve the conflict, with many urging an end to violence and a commitment to a peaceful two-state solution.
