Bollywood superstar Salman Khan received a second death threat allegedly from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, just days after a prior warning was reported. On Thursday night, the Mumbai Traffic Control Room received a message threatening the actor’s life, prompting police to initiate a case against an unknown person, according to ANI. Authorities have intensified their investigation, though details surrounding the nature of the new threat remain undisclosed.
This latest threat follows a similar message received on November 5, which demanded that Salman Khan either issue a public apology or pay Rs 5 crore to ensure his safety. Police recently detained a suspect in this earlier incident: Bhikha Ram, also known as Vikram, a 32-year-old daily wage worker from Rajasthan. Ram was apprehended in Karnataka and subsequently transferred to Maharashtra Police custody. He reportedly told police that he made the call after watching a regional news report, claiming allegiance as a fan of Lawrence Bishnoi, though police have yet to confirm his full account.
Meanwhile, another Bollywood icon, Shah Rukh Khan, also received a disturbing threat. On November 5, a caller contacted Bandra Police Station, demanding Rs 50 lakh and threatening to kill Shah Rukh Khan if the sum was not delivered. The threat call was traced to a phone belonging to Mohammad Faizan Khan, who reported his device lost on November 2. Authorities believe an unidentified person used Faizan Khan’s phone to make the threat, and Mumbai Police have issued a notice to him as part of their ongoing investigation.
Both cases are now under the scrutiny of Mumbai’s law enforcement as they work to establish connections and motives behind the threats. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, a criminal syndicate with roots in northern India, has previously been linked to threats against high-profile figures, notably targeting Salman Khan. The actor was threatened last year as well, allegedly over Bishnoi’s displeasure with a hunting case in which Khan was accused in the past.
Police have heightened security measures around both Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan while seeking to identify the individuals behind these latest threats. The Mumbai Police assured the public that both cases are being treated with urgency, with specialized teams following every lead to ensure the safety of the actors and bring those responsible to justice.
