A meeting of civil society members was held in Doda under the chairmanship of Advocate Imtiaz Ahmed Mir in which members have demanded to immediate release of 32-yr-old Advocate Hassan Babar Nehru who was arrested by the J&K Police at Assar area in Doda when he was coming from Ramban to Doda after attending the court in Ramban.

In the meeting, it is said that he was arrested without any reason and justification by JK Police whereas, there is no substantial involvement in any case in the police record. The Police have arrested several times before this but the honrable high court had released him without having any involvement and allegations against him. On one pretext on the other he is being harassed and humiliated by the police without any charges which is a great human rights violations committed by the state.
The civil society members have demanded immediate release of Adv Hassan Babar Nehru with due respect amd regards. In this connections the family members of the Adv Hassan Babar have also approached honrable high court for intervention into the matter.
Those who attended the meeting include Ab Qayoom Zargar Humam Right Activist, Mehboob Ahmed TaK Chenab Citizen Forum, Bhagat Lal Chand, Ishtiaq Ahmed Dev, Naseer Ahmed Khora, Gh Hassan Pampori, Gian Chand and Showket Ali Mughal.
