Shaheedi Diwas or Martyrs day was observed by the JKAP Police officers/officials at Battalion Headquarter in the memory of freedom fighters. This day is observed in the remembrance of the martyrs who laid their lives during independence struggle of India. On this occasion two minutes silence was held to salute/pay tributes in the memory of freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for independence. Similarly, martyrs day was also observed at various locations of the companys including at Harni, Surankote, Poonch and chakka-da-bagh.
On this day speechs and discussion were organized. On the said event Sh Toseer Ahmad Khan PSI delivered a brief speech and reminded the officers/ officials of the unit about freedom movements of India and the contributions made by various freedom fighter to give India the freedom from British Rule.Later Shri Suram Singh, JKPS (SSP) Commandant also addressed the Police officers/ officials attending the Commemoration Parade and threw light on various contributions made by Indian freedom fighters in India’s Independence struggle. The jawans/police officers were reminded to have a watch over the activities of anti-natiinal elements and to take action against them according to law in the interest of country and to safeguard the society. They were also told to adhere with the ideals of peace, non violence, simplicity, purity of means and humility for the betterment of our society. Sh. Aftab Ahmad Sheikh, JKPS (SSP) DY.Commandant, sh.Mohd Farooq Khan, DySP along with other police officers/officials were also present and paid tributes to the departed souls at the battalion headquarters.
