A community toilet located in the main market Kahara was constructed more than five years ago and worked for some months that time. Later, it was blocked due to non-maintenance. The public of Kahara were demanding from many years as this is an essential part in a market. Years passed, but no one looked into it.
Chenab Times correspondent reports a news story on this issue a month ago and later SDM Thathri Athar Amin Zargar took this issue into notice and ordered tourism department to re-open the public toilet.
Youth of Kahara alongwith some employees of tourism department started cleanliness drive for re-opening of public toilet and washed away the waste dumped around and inside the public toilet.
Public of Kahara were facing problems due to lack of public toilet from many years and today due to efforts of Kahara youth, it is re-opened again.
Speaking to Chenab Times, a youth leader and social activist Er Mohsin Jamal said, “I want to thank The Chenab Times team, SDM Thathri Athar Amin Zargar and tourism department to act on this issue and we opened this public toilet which is very important and necessary for the public of Kahara.”
The participants in the cleanliness drive of public toilet in Kahara were Er Mohsin Jamal (Social Activist kahara Doda), Nafees Ahmed Keen (National Conference Youth President Kahara), Er. Mudassir Khan, Jaffer Sharief Zargar (Driver Union President Kahara), Mohd Amin (Naib Sarpanch Kansoo), Mohd Shafi Choudhary (Panch W.no 6 Kahara), Aslam Pathan (Driver), Waseem Farooq (Student), Yasir Hussain (Carpenter MJ Joinery Kahara), Rakesh Kumar (Head Carpenter MJ Joinery Kahara and Resident of Kathua), Sajad Khan (Driver), Haleem Ahmed (Tipper Driver), Ayaz-ul-haq Zargar (BDA JE) and Er. Raja Shakeel (Journalist The Chenab Times).
