Jammu and Kashmir police Monday said that no third militant was found in Rawalpora area of Shopian district.
A senior police official told KNO that they received inputs that there was a third militant hiding in the area but after extensive searches, none was found. “We repeatedly made surrender offers as well,” the official said.
Pertinently, JeM chief Sajad Afghani was killed in the encounter early morning today at Rawalpora while as one Lashkar-e-Toiba militant was also killed on Saturday at the same spot, taking the total number of militants killed to two.
