A Thathrian has received a doctorate in Zoology from SRI Sataya Sai University of Technology & Medical Science in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh.
Haroon Bashir, who belongs to Chenab Valley’s Thathri area in Doda district, was awarded a PhD in Zoology for the research study he carried out on “Analysis of crorus sativus (saffron) in the prevention of cystic follicles and adenomyosis in female rats”. According to the notification The Chenab Times have, it reads, “University ordinance number 11 of 2013 subparagraph no 20.0 and after completion of all formalities to award Ph.D. degree.”It is notified that the following candidate has been found eligible for the award of PhD degree in the respective faculty from the date of this notification no. SSSUTMS/Zoology/Ph.D/2021/1068 dated 25-05-2021 to Haroon Bashir under enrollment number SSSZOO1606W and research center at University Teaching Department, SSSUTMS, Sehore. ”
He completed his PhD in four years and published five research papers in international publications. His research papers have received over 5000 reads and four citations on Researchgate.He attended numerous national and international conferences and also gave representation to the United Nations at a climate change webinar. He also serves as a reviewer for one of Elsvair’s publications (Informatics in Medicine unlocked), as per information available with The Chenab Times.
In 2016, he received the ‘Young Scientist Award‘ at the D.A.V (PG) College Dehradun’s “National Seminar on Environmental Health Vis-a-vis Human Welfare in the Present Scenario.”
Haroon, one of the sons of retired Nursery Registered Inspector of Horticulture Department of J & K, Bashir Ahmed Zargar, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Science from the University of Jammu in 2014 and a master’s degree in Zoology from Central University HNB Garhwal, Uttarakhand in 2016.
Currently, Haroon is working on biodiversity in the Chenab Valley.
