Communist Party of India (CPI) Jammu and Kashmir and All India Students Federation (AISF) Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday in at different condolence meetings condoled the sad demise of Editor ‘Awami Moazin’, and CPI state council member, a veteran communist leader, Comrade Mohd Yousuf Bhat, who breathed his last early Sunday morning due to COVID-19 complications at SKIMS Hospital Srinagar.

As per statement issued by CPI-J&K, Mohd Yousuf was initially admitted in Shopian District hospital, but later on due to complications had to be moved to SKIMS Srinagar.
He remained a field worker of the party and worked mostly in his home district of Shopian. He was a dedicated party worker, who joined the communist party in 1967 as wholetimer. Because of his dedicated work for the party he soon made his mark felt in the party circles, whereon he was promoted to being a member of the state council, the highest decision making body of the party in state .
He gave party more than fifty-three years service. He was a kind hearted person, who took it upon himself to bail out any party worker in difficulty.
He as a senior most member of the party devoted his entire time to party work in field. He was also editing a Urdu paper “Awamj Moazin,” which was issued from Jammu. As a true Communist his main aim always remained to strengthen and boost the moral of party workers, party organizations and guide the workers in right direction.
He was a central figure in the state party apparatusin J&K. His untimely demise is a big loss to the party and communist movement in J&K.
Party at this hour of grief also shares the grief of his family . The party dips it’s banner in fond memory of Comrade Mohd Yousuf. A hearty red Salute to this great leader.
Meanwhile, AISF condoled the meet online via Google meet in which all state council members and senior leaders of the Federation first took two minutes silence for the departed soul and then threw light on struggles and life of comrade Yousuf.
The condolence meeting was held under the chairmanship of Federation’s Jammu and Kashmir, president, Sanjay Kotwal and was conducted by AISF, State Secretary Ranbir Bandral.
While addressing the condolence meet, Kotwal said that there is no idea of human, when our nearer leaves us forever. In every difficult moment, our comrade Mahommed Yousuf taught us to stand together, how to come out of trouble, and always support the truth. “Today I cannot believe that he left us, may you Comrade Yousuf rest in power,” he added.
Former state president, Mukesh Parihar Sarazi, state vice president Aisha Gulshan, state joint secretary Thakur Surjeet Dhowan, district president Doda Sulinder Parihar Sarazi, Khifayat Hussain, Raj Kumar, Prem Chandail, Pankaj Kumar, Rahul, Zahid Hussain and others attended the condolence meet.
