The rate of positivity has dropped to 3.3 percent
Deputy Commissioner Doda Vikas Sharma stated during a media briefing that vaccination is the primary focus of the District Administration Doda in order to address the long-term effects of Covid-19, and that religious leaders have come forward in support of the administration in order to achieve 100% saturation, particularly in the age group of over 45 and in the high-risk section category.
The DC stated that more than 72 percent of the population over the age of 45 has been vaccinated, and that a vaccination drive for the age group of 18-44, including high-risk sections such as shopkeepers, barbers, and journalists, is currently underway at 09 vaccination sites.
In terms of Covid positive cases, the DC stated that the positivity rate was 7.7% at the beginning of this month, but that it has since dropped to 3.3 percent, with only 804 active cases in the district.
In terms of oxygen availability, the DC stated that, in addition to the existing infrastructure, a new 750 LPM OGP is expected to be commissioned today, and that civil work on the OGP at Gandoh has begun. He also stated that 63 oxygen concentrators have been installed at newly established CC Centers.
In addition, the DC stated that Hon’ble Union MOS PMO Dr Jitendra Singh gave 22 oxygen concentrators to the district administration, in addition to other supplies, which have been put to use, and that NGOs are also stepping forward to assist the district administration in its fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
The DC stated that various measures are being considered to address the post-lockdown congestion in public spaces, as well as an aggressive awareness campaign with other stakeholders regarding Covid vaccination and the implementation of SOPs across the district.
