On Mughal Road in Poonch, a senior police officer serving as the Station House Officer (SHO) at police station Rajouri was allegedly manhandled by Army men.
According to reports, SHO Rajouri Sameer Jillani was on Mughal Road when Army soldiers stationed at the Poshana Army checkpoint and a police officer got into a verbal brawl.
“Based on initial reports, it appears that SHO has been mistreated to a greater extent,” police officials said.
They requested anonymity but said that the officer’s mistreatment has sparked a wave of resentment among police officers in Rajouri and Poonch, who are demanding legal action in the case.
Senior police and army officers are said to have rushed to the scene for further investigation.
