Drive against Unruly Two-wheelers/Four-Wheelers: Traffic Police City Jammu

Jammu Traffic Police, under the supervision of Dr Koshal Kumar Sharma JKPS, SSP Traffic City Jammu, Sh Pardeep Singh ASP Traffic, Ms Shivali Kotwal DySP (T) North, Sh Sunil Singh DySP (T) South, Sh Neeraj Paddyar DySP (T) City Rural, DTI’s and SOT’s of traffic police Jammu, launched a special drive against violators, especially those who were in the city.

Furthermore, a number of vehicles have been booked for various visible offences such as driving without a crash helmet or safety belt, jumping traffic lights, using a cellphone while driving, triple riding, over speeding, and so on, all of which directly involve innocent human lives.

Furthermore, all DySPs, DTIs, and SOTs have been directed to have zero tolerance for violators who engage in activities such as not wearing a crash helmet, rash driving, not wearing a seat belt, minor driving, pillion riders not wearing a helmet, and other offences.

Dr. Koshal Kumar Sharma urged traffic cops to maintain strict discipline, accountability, and transparency in the traffic management system so that violators could be dealt with harshly under the New Motor Vehicle Act’s provisions.
Additionally, SSP Traffic advised his team to treat senior citizens and those in a hurry for medical emergencies with respect and civility.

“Every year, a large number of teenagers riding two-wheelers without wearing a crash helmet and resorting to triple riding lose their lives, bringing sadness and despair to otherwise happy families,” said Sh Pradeep Singh Gouria, Addl.SP Traffic Jammu.

Ms Shivali Kotwal, DySP Traffic, reminded pillion riders that they must also wear a crash helmet, and passengers in the front seat of four-wheelers must wear seat belts for their own safety.

“The general public is urged to work with the Traffic Police in order to see visible changes in Jammu’s traffic management system,” said Dr. Koshal Kumar Sharma, SSP Traffic City Jammu.
