Officials said two trekkers died and one was seriously injured last night after falling into a crevasse in the Hallan area of Verinag in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Three trekkers from a group fell into a crevice at Hallan Verinag, officials told Kashmir-based news agency Kashmir News Observer. According to them, two of them were killed and another was critically injured.
Aaqib Wani (18), son of Tariq Ahmad Wani, a resident of Dolegam Banihal, and Mohammad Imran Khan (26) son of Abdul Salam Khan, a resident of Verinag, were killed in the incident.
Muzamil Ahmad Sheikh (18), son of Nazir Ah Sheikh, a Dolegam Banihal resident, was seriously injured and is receiving treatment.
