On Thursday, a weather forecaster said that heavy rains were not expected in Jammu and Kashmir. However, the weatherman predicted that light rain could fall in some areas today.
“In the entire state of J&K and Ladakh, no significant rain fell during the night. The weather is currently cloudy in most places, according to a MeT official.
“The weather will be mostly cloudy in the morning and partly cloudy in the afternoon. There is the possibility of light rain in some areas. “However, there is no heavy rain forecast for today,” he said.
Srinagar received 4.0 mm of rain in 24 hours until 0830 hours, according to a meteorological department official here, while the summer capital of J&K recorded a minimum temperature of 20.3 degrees Celsius, which is 1.6 degrees Celsius above the normal for the season.
He said Jammu, J&K’s winter capital, received 6.6mm of rain during the period and had a minimum temperature of 23.8 degrees Celsius, compared to a normal of 25.2 degrees Celsius.
According to the official, Katra received 43.6 mm of rain, while Batote received 33.8 mm, Banihal 23.0 mm, and Bhaderwah 9.0 mm.
He said Qazigund, Kashmir’s gate town, received 8.8 mm of rain and had a minimum temperature of 18.6 degrees Celsius.
Pahalgam received 22.8mm of rain, with a low of 15.3 degrees Celsius in the popular tourist destination.
According to the official, Kokernag received 6.4mm of rain despite a minimum temperature of 17.0 degrees Celsius.
According to him, the border town of Kupwara received 19.6mm of rain and had a minimum temperature of 18.7 degrees Celsius.
He added that Gulmarg, a world-famous skiing and tourist resort in north Kashmir, received 2.0mm of rain and was the coldest place in the Valley, with a minimum temperature of 13.5 degrees Celsius.
