Jammu Has Potential To Emerge As A Distinct Integrated Education Model In the Country: Jitendra Singh

Union minister Jitendra Singh said, “As India matures into a frontline nation in the global community, the motto for success would be to take all academic faculties out of silos and integrate them for meaningful and cost-effective outputs.” He was speaking at an event in Jammu.

According to a statement issued by the Personnel Ministry here on Saturday, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said Jammu has the potential to develop as a distinct integrated education model in the country. He said that as India evolves into a frontline nation in the global community, the mantra for success will be to pull all academic faculties out of silos and integrate them for meaningful and cost-effective outcomes. He was speaking at an event in Jammu.

A multipartite Memorandum of Understanding was signed at the ceremony between AIIMS Jammu, IIT Jammu, IIM Jammu, and the University of Jammu.
It was a historic occasion, Singh said, and the “emergence of a rare quaternary” that brought together medical science, engineering technology, management abilities, and a variety of specialised disciplines on one platform. According to the minister of state for personnel, this is a one-of-a-kind model that may be further enhanced and expanded.
“With various types of higher education institutions springing up in close proximity to one another, catering to various specialisations and streams of academics, Jammu has the potential to emerge as a distinct integrated education model, which can be replicated in other parts of the country,” Singh said in the statement.

In response to the coronavirus pandemic, he noted that nearly every department, ministry, or agency started a Covid project since it provided visibility, media attention, and funding. The conclusion could have been considerably better if all of these separate agencies or departments had pooled their resources to come up with an unified study on Covid, he continued.

Singh added that on August 31, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will open a web portal for the registration of units under the new central scheme for the industrial development of the union territory, referring to the new industrial policy for Jammu and Kashmir.
“This will also be most effective only through an integrated approach if we can link academic institutions with industry, start-ups, the private sector, and other entities,” he added.
