[ad_1]

Two militants were killed and three soldiers were injured in an encounter at Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector in north Kashmir district of Baramulla, official sources said on Sunday.

They said a fresh contact was established on Saturday afternoon with the militants who had infiltrated into this side during the intervening night of September 18 and 19.

They said two militants were killed and three security force personnel were injured in the encounter.

This was not a fresh infiltration attempt by militants, they said adding these militants had sneaked into this side from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) during the intervening night of September 18 and 19.

However, after a brief exchange of fire, the militants had fled from the area, they said adding later massive search operation was conducted in the forest area for about three days but the infiltrators could not be located.
Therefore, the operation was closed, they said adding that on Friday fresh contact was established with the militants.

However, on September 23 three heavily armed militants were killed by the troops at Line of Control (LoC) in Hatlanga post in Uri sector. (Agencies)
