“As per the provisions of the Information Technology Act 2000, the documents on the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information’s DigiLocker platform and the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways’ mParivahan mobile app shall now be deemed to be legally recognised documents at par with the original documents,” read an official circular issued by the Traffic Department here today.

According to a circular issued by ADGP Traffic, Tsewang Namgyal, in this regard, in compliance with an amendment by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in Rule 139 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rule via notification number G.S.R 108 (E) dated November 2, 2018, enabling production of requisite documents such as certificate of registration, insurance, fitness and permit, driving licence, certificate for pollution under check, and any other relevant document
