Adv. Malik calls on Union MoS for External and Parliamentary Affairs, Demands district for Bhaderwah, Jobs for youth in Khellani Tunnel

Senior Legal Advisor to Chenab Times, Adv Mohd Majid Malik, who is spearheading the movement to create Bhaderwah district, met Union Minister of State for External and Parliamentary Affairs V Murleedharan here today at Khellani Top and submitted a detailed Charter of demands and also discussed with him the various issues related to Bhaderwah and Bhalla.

Adv Mohd Majid Malik briefed the Union Minister about the importance, history, culture, and tradition of Bhaderwah and demanded that, keeping in view the qualifications, Bhaderwah should be declared as the district headquarter and Chinta Bhalra and Athkar should be declared as blocks and tehsils, respectively. He also alleged that previous governments had a preplanned conspiracy to create more districts but ignored Bhaderwah.

He also urged the minister to consider the proposal for the district of Bhaderwah in a positive manner as there are no financial challenges in it as there is already an Additional Deputy Commissioner office functioning in Bhaderwah and other officers also have jurisdiction in the whole Bhaderwah constituency, so the need is only to open a DC office in Bhaderwah.

He also demanded that the Bhaderwah campus be made a full-fledged University of the Chenab Valley and that all colleges, including GMC Doda, should be affiliated with it. Malik also demanded that, on the pattern of UP, the union government should establish a high court bench in Bhaderwah, keeping in view the rich culture, tradition, and history of Bhaderwah. He also demanded that construction of the KV building at Bhaderwah, the Army Good Will School at Bhalla, along with establishing a bench of the consumer and labour court in Bhaderwah keeping in view the tradition, culture, and merit of the area, Jai should be blacktopped, and the Jora/Charalla and Khara roads should be constructed to Jai Valley in Bhaderwah to boost tourism activities and employment.

Adv Mohd Majid Malik also demanded tourism infrastructure at Chawari, Bhalla, Kellar, Dugga, Danda, Lodu Kansar, Drai, Sarola, Draina Cheka, Kota Top, Rajpura, Bargi, Raila, and Dalmera. He also informed the Union Minister of State  about the historical background and importance of Bhaderwah and said in 1954 degree college Bhaderwah was established and presently at Bhaderwah campus there is 400 Kanals of land available along with infrastructure and 200 Kanal land is also notified for the campus. He also raised the issue of the creation of more municipal wards in Bhaderwah and demanded the immediate official opening of Bhaderwah Chamba and Bhaderwah Bani roads for the creation of employment opportunities in Bhaderwah. He also demanded a mini air port, the construction of a sports stadium and power grid station in Bhaderwah. He also demanded employment for locals of Bhaderwah and Doda in the Khellani tunnel and alleged that the previous government had always ignored the people of Bhaderwah, and now Bhaderwah people have full faith in the union government for justice.

The Union State Minister listened to Malik patiently and assured him that all demands would be considered along with the District of Bhaderwah and tourism infrastructure.
