The boy, whose family lives in Uttam Nagar, was reported missing from his home on Monday, prompting his parents to contact the police, according to them.
A abduction case was initiated when his parents filed a complaint.
His body was found inside another house in his neighbourhood on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said, with damage marks on his neck and other places.
According to authorities, a few persons have been detained and are being questioned in connection with the event.
According to a senior police officer, a murder case has been filed and the body has been transported for an autopsy.
The crime scene was also examined by the crime team, and CCTV cameras mounted in and around the area are being scanned to identify the perpetrators and determine the sequence of events, according to the officer.
According to him, it appears that the youngster was strangled to death and his body was then dumped in a garbage bag inside the residence.
Police stated they are looking into all possibilities, but the motive for the murder is yet unknown.
