Thakur Randeep Bhandari, ex. General Secretary, District Congress Committee Kishtwar, has lashed out at JKPCC Chief, G.A. Mir, over his statement on the resignation of various Congress senior leaders who are referred to as Azad loyalists. Bhandari said that his statement is contradictory to the facts.
It is pertinent to mention that G.A Mir, in an interview with Daily Taskeen, said that the Congress leaders who resigned from posts don’t actually have posts in Congress; the one and a half or two who have any position in the party have not worked properly in the party for what they were meant for. The Chenab Times quoted his statement in which he said that the leaders who have resigned from the posts don’t have any posts from the party right now except some. As a disciplined Congress worker, they should convey to me the issue directly, not through the medium of the media or newspaper, he added.
In a statement issued to The Chenab Times, Bhandari said that Ghulam Ahmed Mir must check the facts and figures before commenting and that it was he who had given the mandate during the DDC and BDC elections and why should he not be made accountable or answerable for the loss that Congress suffered in the whole of J & K.
Furthermore, it was during his stint that more than four District Presidents of Congress joined other parties, and also more than three to five sitting MLA’s, two State Presidents of Frontal organizations, and more than 100 office bearers joined various political parties, he added.
He further said, “Mir is responsible for the present situation of Congress in the whole J&K and he miserably failed as State President of the J&K PCC.”
Regarding the present situation of the Congress in Jammu and Kashmir, Bhandar said that he has requested Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi to personally look into the issue and appoint a new State President in J&K.
