On Monday, police said they had captured a man who had been wanted for nine years for rash driving and injuring people in Jammu city.
Chaman Lal, a native of Hondana Darwale village in Kishtwar district, was arrested in Domana area in 2013 for rash driving, endangering pedestrians’ lives and injuring others, PTI reported.
He had stayed underground ever since, according to the police.
Local intelligence was obtained and teams were formed. Based on a tip-off, and with technical and manual surveillance, he was nabbed, they said.
A chargesheet was filed in the matter, and a general warrant was issued against him by a local court under Section 512 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), they added.
