India abstained from an important vote on Ukraine on the UN Safety Council (UNSC) hours after it held consultations with Russia on UN-related points on Monday.
India, together with Gabon and Kenya, abstained from the vote whereas Russia and China voted towards it. All different members, together with the western powers, voted in favour of holding a {meeting} to debate the scenario on the Ukraine border.
