Continuing its war against drug peddlers and to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Doda Police today registered two separate FIRs against two drug peddlers at Police Station Thathri.
According to the police, during a routine Naka check at Phagsoo Police Party of Police Station Thathri today, they apprehended one person, Mohan Lal, S/O Krishn Lal, R/O Udhampur, and recovered 140 grams of opium (hafeem) like narcotic substance.
In another case, after receiving a specific input from one person, namely Krishn Lal S/O Lal Chand R/O Puniyala (Gundna), who was carrying a narcotic drug for sale to the youths of the general area of Thathri, on this information, a police party led by SHO PS Thathri Amrit Katoch arrested the said drug peddler and recovered 110 grams of charas-like-narcotic Substance in the presence of Executive Magistrate 1st Class Thathri.
In this regards case FIR No. 16/2022, U/S 8/18 NDPS Act. and Case FIR No.17 /2022, U/S 8/20 NDPS Act. stands registered at Police Station Thathri against the above named accused persons respectively and investigation has been set into motion.
Both these recoveries were made under the supervision of SDPO Bhaderwah Meer Ghafoor JKPS and Incharge Addl.SP Bhaderwah Raj Kumar JKPS. The special drive against drug peddlers in the district is going on under the overall supervision of SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom. He said that Doda Police is committed to eradicating the menace of drugs from the district and all efforts are being made to curb the menace of drug peddling in society.
