Police have arrested an absconded who along with his accomplice attacked two girls inside their house with knives at Batamaloo here on Friday. His accomplice was overpowered by the locals after one of the girls managed to break away and raise a hue and cry. He was later arrested by the police.

“The second accomplice, Habil Yaseen son of Mohammad Yaseen of Dal colony, Bemin has been arrested,” a senior police officer told GNS.

At least two girls were wounded after the duo held two sisters and their maternal aunt hostage in Mominabad locality in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district this afternoon.

A close relative of the family told GNS that the incident took place around 1 PM when father and mother of the girls were out for prayers.
